Comments
Comments: A surprisingly busy weekday on Isolation, although most of the traffic seemed to be coming from Rocky Branch. The mud on Davis Path near Isolation is significant, but not as bad as I have seen it. I was ultimately able to rock hop, use remaining bog branches, or balance on fallen trees for all the deep sections; other patches of previously deep mud had dried out. LOTS of insects; while only a small proportion were actually biting, this still was a significant number overall. Very little wind above treeline meant that there was really no break from the swarms that followed me all day. I closed the day out by heading up to Boott Spur to enjoy some isolation and the beautiful alpine flowers in bloom.
