too many! mosquitoes were anything under treeline. On Blue Mt it was myself and about 50 of them swarming. Then when I had a snack on a ledge the black flies went for my face which the bug net helped with. Then once back down about a mile from the end both kinds and nats came out to make me want to run off trail. |

Well a day to clean up all the trails in the Chocorua area was nice. It was a nice breezy day out with some good temps. I didn't see anyone until I passed the piper trail heading up to Chocorua which was a nice change for a Friday hike on a busy mountain. I got the summit to myself and I hid on the otherside of it with the wind which was nice. Once I took the nickerson ledge trail I left the people again. It was a nice loop and just under 12 miles for the day. I went from the corner of middle sister trail for Blue mt. It was only about .2 miles away and I got some nicer woods on the way up and found the jar but sadly not as nice of line down as I was just to the left of it. Not a smart choice to do it with the bummed ankle though. On to the next! |
