Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bolles is loaded with water crossings. Water was low today. It wasn't easy to find the trail again after crossing waters in most spots.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bolles trail is in rough shape in spots. I noticed clear differences as the trail weaved in and out of the White Mountain boundary. Parts are yellow blazed, parts are orange, and others are not blazed at all. It's totally doable with a premium GPS app or a Garmin though. I didn't mind it, but that is because I've done much harder to find trails in recent weeks. The section of brook trail down to bee line is ROUGH. Wet, mossy, steep ass slabs. Butt scooting is my middle name now.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I wouldn't recommend dogs on Brook-Bee Line-Bolles. Would be reasonable on Champney for an athletic dog.
Bugs
Bugs: Agh. Horrible bugs coming down Bolles.

Comments
Comments: Really worth reading the blog post for this one that I linked, but here's my preview:

Getting down to Bee Line on the Brook Trail challenged me just as much as the Tripyramids slides, there were points I didn’t even have my feet on the ground while I lowered myself with my arms. I guess this is what I’d been training tricep dominant for all this time in the gym.

Overall, probably wouldn't make this a loop with Bolles unless you love wilderness trails
