Date of Hike: Friday, June 10, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We did this hike as a traverse, south to north. For a Friday this worked well because we were able to get a spot at Diana's Baths easily in the morning and we only had to drive through Conway once in the afternoon when weekend traffic was definitely picking up.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A couple of crossings heading down from North Moat just prior to Diana's Bath; all rock hop-able.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Very well maintained trail! Sometimes the blazes are a little tricky to follow in the rocky sections of the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw a couple well-behaved cuties today.
Bugs
Bugs: The bugs are out--lots of mosquitoes and a few black flies higher up as well. We reapplied deet many times and still came away with some bites.

Comments
Comments: This was a very pleasant traverse, and the views were phenomenal. All snow and ice is completely gone, but the trail was wet most of the way as it had rained the day before. This made for very slippery conditions near the top of South and North Moat mts. The rocks up near the tops of both are very smooth in places and when wet they become VERY slippery. Poles are your friends. Proceed with caution and you'll be fine.
