Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Whiteface River is fairly low as of this writing. Feet stayed dry without much thought. Mud, on the other hand...
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blow-downs that are easily ducked under. Otherwise, the trail is in good shape overall.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Yes. In the morning, not so bad. In the evening, bad. The lower part, especially as you return to the Flat Mountain Pond trail, where it's very obviously wet, has flies that just about dive bomb you.

Comments
Comments: I took some time off from the Whites, because after rushing here and there to finish my winter 48, I felt a little whipped. First I get back to the Whites, I pick a fall-line trail. Duh. But more plusses than minuses. View was too hazy to see much, but a day in the mountains is better than a day at work.

A more detailed trip report is on my blog as always. Share and enjoy.
