Dog-Related Notes: Some gorgeous dogs out today with their humans. No issues at all! One older lab had a bit of trouble on the Stairs Col. And one of the happiest black lab puppy on her second hike!
Bugs
Bugs: Yes, yes, yes bring your deet and long sleeves and pants. A head net was handy too! We had biting hungry bugs all throughout the day. Black flies on Crawford and Resolution weren’t too bad but Stairs summit was another story.

Comments
Comments: The Davis Path is beautiful, steep, and rugged the whole way. The hike over Parker Tr. is lovely with peek a boo views then open ledges and some more gradual ascents. Mt. Parker Tr. Was covered in wild flowers still and pretty steep to the summit of Mt. Resolution but worth it for the views. Back on the Davis Path to the Stairs Col provided some additional elevation gain especially up the Stairs Mountain Spur was steep with large rocks and boulders and some short scrambles. These three mountains offer you beautiful views for your efforts.
The trail signs are fairly high on the trees so don’t just look down. I missed the Davis Path after coming down the Stairs Spur. I wouldn’t consider this a well marked trail but definitely a well traveled one. I loved this long hike with some great hiking buddies and very nice people on the trails, especially a nice young couple from Germany visiting the US.
