Comments
Comments: What a splendid loop! Up Castle / Israel Ridge / Randolph Path / Gulfside / Jefferson Loop to Jefferson. Then across to Adams. Then down via Spur / Grey Knob / Lowe’s and the Rail Trail.

I will absolutely hike Israel Ridge again. Up or down. It is just beautiful!!
There is about 50’ of degrading snow on Gulfside going up to Jefferson. Not fun. Not even a little but fun. I brought microspikes and I don’t think that they helped in any way. LOL!!

On the way down the Spur Trail I stopped at the Knight’s Castle view and Crag Camp. Oh my stars, the views!! I chatted with Renee, the Crag Camp caretaker, who was super nice. Then I hiked Grey Knob Trail, which was also very picturesque! Then down Lowe’s Path, where I came across a group of four terrific volunteers for the Randolph Mtn Club, who were hiking up cleaning water bars etc. We had a nice chat and I thanked them for their awesome work!

The Rail Trail was an easy way to hike back to my car. I would definitely recommend this route!!
