 | Water Crossing Notes: |
A fairly large portion of Guinea Pond Trail has been flooded out between the road and Mead (this appears to be the handiwork of some industrious beavers). It is possible to navigate without getting too wet or muddy (thanks in part to those same beavers), but is definitely tricky. Someone has marked it on the kiosk map with a scrap of paper and tape. Note that this is in addition to the spot that requires use of the signed High Water Detour (which you will need to use). |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
See above note about Guinea Pond Trail. Otherwise, trails were in excellent shape (though Mead clearly hadn’t seen a whole lot of traffic this year). |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Several out on the trails today. Beware of the ticks. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Ticks were pretty bad. Mosquitos were also bad in spots. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
There was a lone water shoe at the kiosk at the start of the Guinea Pond Trail. |

 | Comments: |
Views were excellent today. Wind kept the bugs away on the top. But beware of the ticks (see above). We were pulling them off of us for hours afterward. The beavers seem to have done quite a number on the Guinea Pond trail, but also conveniently left some logs in convenient spots to make crossing their handiwork a bit easier. Nevertheless, be prepared. |
