Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing at beginning of trail is very easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is in good condition. Some water bars need some attention particularly coming down from Mt Dickey. Cannot believe the amount of erosion( Mt Welch side) that has occurred on this trail in the last 10 years.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Did not see any.
Bugs
Bugs: Keep moving. Once you sit to rest or admire the view, black flies are on you. Intermittent gusts of wind did help to keep them away.

Comments
Comments: This is another "big bang for your buck type of hike". I do this hike every year for the views and to help my old legs get somewhat back into shape. If you do not want to do the whole loop, you can stop at the South Ledge at 1.3 miles, enjoy the view, and go back to the parking lot. Did not stay at the summits long due to weather coming in. Good views of Sandwich Dome, Jennings Peak, the Tripyramids, the Sleepers, Mt Whiteface, etc.
