Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There are a whole bunch of crossings on Castle Ravine. I embraced them early and just plowed through, one was knee deep. Gulfside spring was pumping out the water. You really don't need to carry water on this route, just filter as you go.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Many big blowdowns on Castle Ravine and Castle. All have work arounds

Comments
Comments: Checking another ravine climb off the list. Castle Ravine is fantastic for those not concerned with the most direct route to Jefferson. Really easy approach to the headwall. The first 3.5 miles cruise by, then you get all your vert in one helping. The slide itself is very well blazed. Snow field on Gulfside is soft and easily bare booted. Descending Castle was uneventful with lots of folks coming up. I saw no one in the ravine.
