Comments
Comments: Super nice hike, nice grades and good footing. The weather was changeable and clouds capped Mount Monadnock. Okay views to the nearby valleys below and we got a little wet with the passing showers. This is an excellent hike with exceptional views on a clear day so sorry it was cloudy! Wonderful forest with many big straight stonewalls, fern covered forest floor and we saw Lady Slippers! The spur herd path to the North Peak is easy to find go south on the trail over South Peak and after a short steep climb you will see the path on your left. No need to climb down any ledges straight from the top. Herd Path is easy to folow and the view ledges from South Peak are wonderful just a little past the giant cairn. We returned the same way and instead of going back to the car we continue north and crossed route 124 and followed the Royce Trail to the Cart Path Intersection. I turned back to get the car and jogged the roads. Becca continued and went down Old Halfway House Trail.
