Peaks
Peaks North Kinsman, NH
Trails
Trails: Lonesome Lake Trail, Cascade Brook Trail, Fishin' Jimmy Trail, Kinsman Ridge Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, May 25, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Lafayette campground. There was no cost, just a requested donation. There were 7-10 cars in the lot when we arrived at 9 am. About the same when we returned at 3:30 pm. I'm sure this will be much different after Memorial Day.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues, easy rock hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two or three blowdowns each on Lonesome Lake and Fishin Jimmy. All easy to step right over. Overall, the trails are in excellent condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one dog at the parking lot.
Bugs
Bugs: The bugs were out and about, but they weren't biting just yet. They were a little more bothersome at the summit as we hung out and ate lunch.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: They are two items at the junction of the Kinsman Ridge Trail. One dog leash and one micro spike.

Comments
Comments: It was a beautiful day to be out there. Plenty of sunshine and very little wind. Great views at the summit. I figured we'd do this one now as I don't want to be around Lafayette Campground after Memorial Day. No need for any traction on this route, snow is gone!
