Avalon Tr, Willey Ridge Tr, AZ Tr.
There needs to be an “all of the above” in the trail conditions list above. Trail clear and dry heading up the Avalon trail until about 3000 feet then an easily avoidable collapsing monorail for about a quarter of a mile. The trip over to the AZ trail had much more snow and it was much slower going. Snow for maybe a third of mile then the trail was a steady Brook of running water. Saw one person wearing spikes on way down Avalon and he suggested spikes were necessary on Willey RT over to Tom but mine stayed in the bag. Few blow downs that required crawling in the dirt on the AZ trail. So relived the bugs have not yet bloomed. It was a beautiful day.. didn’t really feel the heat until the last hour on the way out. |
