19 MB wet down low in usual spots. Whole trail very wet, running water, muddy. No snow/ice until 2/10th mile before WRT. Only 20 yards across but it is wet/sticky. Little ice to hut where I dropped gear. WRT was for the most part ice free on the climb up to A. Had spikes never thought about putting them on all day. Several out with spikes across to D. Icy monorail in spots but plenty of room to bypass monorail. Carter Notch socked in with low clouds early, worse on return. D had nice views from platform. Went down to ski area only to be covered in cold wet damp clouds. So much for lunch at picnic table. Only 15 seen today. Thanks to the young couple with the grab bag of nips on A. Honey Jim Beam then down to hut for the night. |
