Comments: Beautiful day to tackle this fun little peak. I followed the Shoal Pond Trail to just after Shoal Pond when the trail started to get soggy and started the bushwhack earlier than I had intended just to keep my feet dry. The NE side of Shoal Pond Peak was wide open woods up until I hit the summit ridge, when it turned to mostly moderate with some thick spots. The summit was clearly marked with a massive eastern white pine (!) right beside the cannister. I made the poor decision to whack west and follow the Thoreau Falls Trail back up to the falls. Heading down was steep and also quite thick. Thankfully, it was short. Thoreau Falls were raging after the rainfall the other day. Only saw two folks back at the junction with the Twinway.
