Comments
Comments: Fire Wardens Trail in super shape put micros on 3/4 of the way up. L-A-H used micros half way and barebooted the rest. microsb just below Zeacliff.Difficult conditions above Zeacliff with narrow rotten Monorail, numerous postholes and unstable snowpack on trail. This continues until just after breaking treeline on Guyot. Needed to drop down to Guyot for water and was great meeting and chatting Heat Lightning in person. West Bond was a mess going up but a huge thanks to the two snowshoers that packed it out as well as up to Mt Bond. Below Mount Bond across Bondcliff completely ice free. Enjoyed a fantastic sunset on Bondcliff. After descending the step light icy monorail 3/4 way down. ** It probably violates Wilderness Guidlines but descending from Bondcliff Trail where trail curves right onto a rock stream bed instead a cairn would be helpful. its a common mistake for hikers to go straight. Last night was an example 930 p.m. i helped a trail runner that lost the trail get back on track. Wildlife very active- left my campsite for 10 min to find a place to hang the bear bag only to find on return what i think was a Pine Marten just outside my tent checking out the food cache.
