Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a pair of very nice sun glasses on the way up. When I got to the LOC hut I talked to a family briefly. He asked me to be on the look out for his lost sunglasses. I asked him what the brand was and he id'd the ones I found. He was happy to get them back!

Comments
Comments: Lots of folks on the trail today. On my way up I past 3 hikers coming down wearing traction. They had no problems. Then I met another half dozen bare-booting on the descent. I suspect they had a hairy time in places because it was pretty slick in spots. There were however multiple herd paths so they probably did ok. One group I past on my way up were having a hard time at one of the tougher crossings. I past them and soon afterwards heard lots of yelling and screaming....that runoff is pretty cold! I didn't see that group when I descended later so I'm guessing they turned around and retreated. A hiking pole would have made a huge difference for them. I also passed a bunch of young fellars coming up in sneakers and obviously no traction. They asked me how much further....I lied but I did warn them about the extremely wet crossing (around 4150' elev). Oh...when I made it to the hut the dark clouds were just rolling in and throwing lightening bolts so I said screw Mt Washington and Monroe and backtracked down the Ammo from whence I came. On the way home there was a huge contingency of Fire Trucks, Ambulances and cops, plus a chopper near the Wiley House. Not sure what happened but it must have been pretty bad.
