||Ice starts a bit above 3,300' on both Airline and Valley Way. Saw some people navigating it without traction, but would definitely recommend using it. |
Once you break treeline there is very little, most areas are clear. One of the only areas with significant snow/ice was the short section where Gulfside heads to Madison Spring Hut. There was a 4-5 foot tall monorail there, if you try to walk on the low side of it, it's all a slush puddle.
Valley Way from the hut down to around 4,000' was either ice flows with a waterfall on top or rotting monorail/slush with flowing water beneath. Had very wet feet through here.
