Water Crossing Notes: All were easy to cross.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of small blowdowns (actually, one was a chewdown -- by the local beavers) on the Back 80 Trail near the beaver ponds. A couple of blowdowns on the Mowglis Trail. Hanging Rock Spur was brushy in places.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Ticks, and black flies. The black flies weren't a problem if you kept moving. Once stopped, they would bite. No more just swarming and being annoying.

Comments
Comments: Was reminded of Hanging Rock by a previous poster, and also wanted to check out the condition of the beaver ponds alongside the Back 80 Trail -- was not disappointed. A few years back, the pond closest to the lodge drained completely; it's now becoming a wet meadow. The ponds furthest from the lodge have repaired dams and a good amount of water -- it's now closer to the Back 80 Trail footbed now than it's been in quite some time.

Elwell Trail has a nice long relocation that sweeps around some of the old slippery, ledges that had eroded trail, and bypasses them completely.

Plenty of spring wildflowers, with many, many, trout lilies in bloom.

Almost no one else at the lodge today; saw no one on the trails.
