The walk from 302 to the beginning of the old forest service road was smooth and dry. The beginning of the old road was marked clearly with three boulders and there is a beaten path to follow. There was also a small cairn marking the point at which you turn right to begin the bushwhack section of the hike. There is a mostly visible herd path that is easy to follow the entire way up once you veer off of the old forest service road. Only lost the path a couple times and was easy to relocate. Patches of ice began at around 3,200 feet but were quickly melting in the heat. Microspikes would be smart to pack for a little while longer, but certainly are not required at this point in the year. |
