Great day for a hike up from Ravine Lodge. Bareboots up Gorge Brook to about 3,000 feet then spikes off and on to summit. Clear skies on summit for a fantastic view in all directions. Spikes on and off during descent above 3,000. Monorail still fairly solid but rising temps made it slick and mushy on top. you'd posthole if you stepped off. Took a few friends up for their first 4,000 and they had a blast. |
