Beebe trail a little muddy but lots of trail maintenance being done in the way of drainage ditches and bog boards so pretty nice. When we got to the access road, we headed up instead of backtracking a short ways to the Wapack. Bonus was the cell tower and views nearby! Trail continued past the cell tower buildings to where the Wapack crossed, yellow blazes aplenty all the way to Holt Peak. Nice surprise once we had submitted Temple Mountain as there was a 'cairn field' just above a spiked cairn: on close examination, they were benches and chairs! Further along were more unofficial trails to all kinds of cairns including a few pillars. Nice trail up to Holt whose summit is marked with a sign on a short side trail above the Wapack. Turned around here and took the Wapack all the way back to the junction with the access road leading to Beebe lot. |
