Comments
Comments: Snowshoes are not needed anywhere except possibly if you were coming up the ski slopes (which we didn’t do). We had microspikes and wished for something more aggressive. Full crampons would not have been overkill. I was jealous of the two women wearing them! The ridge is basically solid ice. As things warmed up in the afternoon, there was some slush on top which helped with the grip. Ski slopes were very slushy in the afternoon, but made for a quick descent. The climb up to E was ice-free in the sketchy bits, but then had lots of ice further up. Again, crampons or aggressive spikes would have been better than microspikes.
