| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Ammonoosuc trail and Ammonoosuc river might as well be sysnonymous. River flows right next to and often onto the trail. The entire descent from Lake of the Clouds hut to Parking Area was via slippery, wet, steep rocks, and muddy when there weren't rocks. Trekking poles highly recommended for balance. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Descent via Ammonoosuc, there's a picture sign with a shelter on the left hand side - trail veers away to the RIGHT at that point - only faded trail markers, so easy to miss and make a turn-off in wrong direction. |

| Comments: |
Beautiful, gentle ascent to Mt. Washington via Jewell and Gulfside trails. Gorgeous foliage views before everything became obscured by fog. Delicious blueberries and cranberries in alpine area. Ascent is 5.1mi, but involves no scrambling, just an easy walk up. Would recommend same route down, as Ammonoosuc is much steeper and WET. |
