Comments
Comments: Winter returned this morning to the mountains. We started the hike with 1-3 inches of snow on the roads and paths, as we moved along the snow got deeper. By the last .5 mile to the summit, we were walking in 12 inches of new powder. Down low it was sticky snow but dryer up high. We kind of blew it by not bringing the magic shoes and had quite the workout trudging through it. If you're planning a trip this way before the temps warm up, bring the snowshoes. They would have made our day easier. It was a beautiful winter wonderland and the winds that were howling on the highway were barely felt on the trails. We were both very happy to have been out today getting another for April instead of stuck inside at work. Didn't see anyone else today.
