Comments
Comments: The trail transitioned rapidly from dry to snow covered at around 2700' where we put on rock spikes, well above Mt. Surprise. Snow depth and coverage increased with elevation and the upper third of the trail had consistent snow cover. There were a few sections with softening ice (mid-40°'s today) but overall, the firm snow was ideal with spikes.
Great day with Chris and Renee in unexpectedly pleasant conditions for April.
