Great time of year to hike Monadnock. Not super crowded yet, and no ice or snow to deal with unlike terrain further north. No bugs yet. A few minor muddy spots, no big deal. I decided to descend down Cascade Link to climb the Spellman Trail rock scramble. No issues on Spellman, but Cascade Link had a few wet rock trouble spots where extra care was needed. Probably 30-40 people on the summit around noon. Mostly overcast day, but still great views to the Whites and Greens. |
