Comments
Comments: A FINE day in the forest was had. Trails are in lovely shape, aside from Carriage Road, more on that in a minute. From First bridge @ ravine lodge to about 1/2 way to the second is a mix of boney ice. From there, it was spikes the entire way until the return trip. Early start this morning to beat the hordes which where witnessed on the way out. Trails are nice and firm, but I was out early on the good snow. Commanding views where had from the summit, but Moosilauke was doing Moosilauke things as usual and the wind had me retreating to the trees in short order. No issues on Carriage from summit to Glencliff junction, but from here the upper half is a post holed delight! If you want to tell your friends your a TRUE mountain man or woman, in the realm of the Jigger's and Joe's of the world, and you want to put your ankles through some punishment, ohh boy your going to love this stretch! You ankles will beam with multiple flex emoji's in prowess. It was pretty gnarly, but thankfully the lower I got the better it was, down to around 4150 or so then it became more manageable. Snow was actually supportive so like every Moosilauke trip I do, I went off in the woods. Someone yelled to me if I was lost, I just yelled "Not yet, ask again in a bit though!" It became rotten down lower, as expected, so back to the trail I went. A fine day in the woods was had, and back home before lunch!
