Overall gorgeous morning. Trails are still snowy above 800' but I never used traction. I carried microspikes, and some may be more comfortable using them going down to prevent sliding. No other footprints on Davis Path out to Resolution from Crawford, snow was packed well enough to hold my weight in most sections, sunny areas had a mix of thin ice and standing water. Probably a foot of snow left in the most shaded areas. Easy hiking conditions, rocks mostly dry, and the wet/icy rock areas were easily avoidable. |
