Comments
Comments: Started the day around 8am to go up Whitehouse>Liberty Springs>Franconia Ridge, Whitehouse was moderately dry. Liberty Springs was until right after the Cascade Brook Crossing...which was hairy to navigate. That is when you need your microspikes. I had on hillsound crampons which turned out to be a lifesaver. My friend had generic microspikes (not Khatoolas), and she had a tough time going up and down the trail. Snow became mooshy and sticking to our traction gear as the day wore on. We could have used snowshoes at some points. Post holes were noted but not in the middle of the trail.
