Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We skipped the initial crossing by walking across the bridge on 49 and doing the quick shwack back to the trail. Bumped into another group putting their boots back on after a wet trip across. Coming down on the Drakes Brook Trail side of things I submerged a boot at the final crossing but I wasn't really trying too hard to stay dry since the lot was so close. With a little care I'm sure I could have done it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All of the signs are newer, and there is actually a decent amount of blazing present for a wilderness area. Lots of blowdowns but that is to be expected.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a couple in the beginning.
Bugs
Bugs: A few things flying around, meh.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Carried out a few remnants of winter: pole clip, a snowshoe guard, and a snow basket. My snow basket collection is growing, almost ready to open up my re-sale shop :)

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day out in the woods with Eric and Stacy. Trails continue to be in decent shape for spring, rockspikes were the appropriate traction choice as there were a few relatively tricky spots requiring care on the steeps. Ran into an interesting guy sending HAM radio transmissions to Sweden on the summit of Sandwich Dome. With the water ripping it would have been a great day to pop over to Fletcher Cascades on the way out but Stacy had a prior commitment. Eric and I grabbed some lunch and sat in the sun on the deck at Mad River Coffee House, then went to the Vintage Candy Shop/Arcade over by the dam to goof off for a bit. It was a very good Friday.
