I parked at the junction of West Joppa Rd. and Loud Ln., and was able to get out of the way enough as to not block the roads. There's also room for one small vehicle at the start of Bear Pond Rd. |

From the parking, I walked east on West Joppa Rd. for a short distance to a road which is shown on some maps as Bear Pond Rd. There's a sign here for "multi-use trail". I followed this road up to the height of land, then bushwhacked alongside a stone wall which took me close to the wooded high point. No register, but there is a small cairn in a ledgy clearing. On the return trip, I bushwhacked directly NE and hit the road further down.
Bear Pond Rd. was pretty wet and mucky higher up. Otherwise, everything was dry. Bushwhacking was easy in very open woods. |
