Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to be out. About a mile in we put on our spikes. In the morning the monorail was mostly stable. As we reached mile 3 it became more unstable and ice bridges were breaking. As we entered the bushwhack it was one big swamp. We started up through the birch glades and found a waist high spruce trap [should have brought snowshoes!]. After A & S dug me out, we decided to call it. Looking uphill it looked like one big white field of post holes and spruce traps. The trail was a bit sloppier on the downhill- meaning everyone ended the day with at least one crash landing. Ahhh. Spring hiking.
