 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of room today. We wanted this 52wav before the crowds came in a month or so, this is a tourist trail for sure. It's a shoulder season route in my book, I'll take the mess to have less people. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossings were up, I got wet boots and Shay got pretty wet, mostly because I'm really lazy looking for easy ways to cross, lol. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in reasonable shape. This trail needs to be re-blazed, they are few and old and faded. Two step overs on Middle sister cut-off. There was so much water on the trail section near the Falls side trail, I couldn't tell if it had good water bars or not. It's hard to gauge a trails runoff in the spring. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Shay kicked some butt today, did great up on the cone scrambling away like a goat. He hates water, I mean hates it, but he's a champ making crossings in the back country, I say go, he goes. |
|
 | Bugs: |
I actually saw a few, don't know what, but they just flew on by. |

Had a great day on the peak, it's been about 25 years since, I've climbed it. I think it was my 10th ascent, not sure. I had never done Middle Sister, that was a nice little detour, cool little peak and with the cut-off, you zoom right down into the valley from there on a nice side hill trail. One thing I noticed and this may just be me. I would build much bigger and better cairns up on the cone. The ones that were there were small and inadequate. The blazes helped and dont get me wrong, I didnt get lost, but if I'm wandering a bit they are not good enough. Granted I do love cairns, lol. |
