Comments
Comments: A counter-clockwise loop over the east peak (town of Middleton high point) and the main summit (the high point of the Moose Mtns. range).

It's been a whole since I've been here, but lordy, I do not remember the plethora of what appear to be bootleg mountain bike trails up along the ridge. It would be super easy for someone not skilled at navigation to get turned around with all of the paths heading off in various directions. Unfortunately, many of these trails were "built" right through brush and vegetation, and are causing lots of erosion. All of the trails were generously flagged.

I took hiking trails and roads up to near the top of the east peak, where a flagged path leads to the recognized high point. A mountain bike trail connects the east peak to old roads and other paths along the ridge, which in turn lead to the recognized main summit (sign). Nearby is a nice view from a ledge. Descending, I used a combo of bike trails and old roads over to Moose Mountains Trail, which took me back down to Burrows Farm Trail.

It appears I was not too far behind another party on a similar hike. I heard them ahead of me at one point, but couldn't see them. When I got to the main summit, I saw that they had signed the register today. Guess that was the one other car at the trailhead.

Trails were mostly dry with some mud here and there. Light showers accompanied me down but never enough to pull out the rain gear.
