Started with wet muddy trail but nothing crazy. Up around 2500 el. Ice started as patchy. Then more consistent from 3700 up. Ice was solid with a light coat of hard snow over perfect for micro spikes. Light snow started midway through. Snow and wind picked up on the ridge where there was 1 or 2 inches of fresh snow some drifting just above ankles. Spikes still worked fine. High winds and low visibility today. Winter is still here! Tagged and bagged the peak and got to tree cover. |
