| Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper and Piper had a blast; met no other dogs on the trail today. Trail is easy for them; some mud, which we managed to keep mostly confined to their paws. If allowed, they may have wondered off the trail and ended up much muddier, especially on the trail approaching and through the engine hill bushwhack. No ice flows for them to content with, too. |

We had the advantage of great trail reports from The Teal Goat / scottb and twinkle toes describing the day before. Thanks so much for reporting, they were spot on. We started barebooting the beginning of the trail that had melted the day prior, as noted. By the time of our late morning start, the trails had already softened, so the going was a little slower than anticipated. The bushwhacks were easy to follow (despite the tortuous path described in the earlier report); thanks to all who laid the trails before us.
Views were incredible today; winds were slight, although greater than we anticipated, just needed to add a jacket. Saw only 5 others on the trail during this mid-week hike.
All of this may change in 2 days after the upcoming predicted rain. |
