Saw that blue sky this morning and knew it had to be another Tecumseh Tuesday. Soft-ish but solid covering of snow/ice just past the first stream lasts until the 2nd crossing. Then it’s bare until you climb higher and move into the shade. A couple of big muddy sections have stepping stones you can cross on. The nice packed snow/ice sidewalk is still completely covering the trail from before the third crossing to the summit. Some minor more-ice-than-snow spots at the beginning of the climb after the overlook and some more substantial icy/bony sections that require careful foot placement on the final summit cone section (I went left). Just myself and a super friendly ham radio operator all set up at the summit today. |
