Comments
Comments: Old Sol made an unexpected appearance on this cloudy-forecasted day, and there was no wind to be found-wonderful day to join my daughter and son, the latter getting #47 and #48. Bare down below, transitioning to micro spikes with elevation, though not enough for the ice flows up Airline, where I took a spill. Trail Crampon Pros (Hillsound) or full crampons should have been in our kits. Wore S-shoes on the approach to trail opening, then bare-booted to Adams, as there were plenty of dry rocks to hop up and down Adams. Switched to M-spikes on Gulfside, then S-shoes (heelevators) up the snow field to Jefferson peak. M-spikes down Castle Trail, as boulders here were not dry. A little dicey below the Castle Trail plateau, so we skirted the short sections ice flows.
