Comments: You don't have to be lonely at TrampersOnly.com! A FINE day in the forest was had. This was my penultimate trip to Isolation, it gives my such joy to only need this one ONE more time! Spring conditions change rapidly, as evident today. We spiked from car to just about 3/4 mile up from the lot, as it had completely melted out from the morning. Trails in the morning where rock solid drag strips, but softened considerably in the high sun. We where off the mountain by 1230 at it was wild how different it was. Whomever set the current Engine Hill whack did it high, figuratively and literally. It climbs up to almost 3400 feet, but brought us to new sections not seen before so that was good. We popped out onto Iso East, and within 50 feet, we where, again, on someones idea of the Isolation Express whack. I would hate to drive with this person on an icy road as its so serpentine and keeps wildly overcorrecting itself from left to right. Straight was apparently not an option! It was firm, so not going to complain, but it was just a super whacky track. Hard to follow to due to blowing snow had covered yesterdays progress. Great views on the summit today but spicy winds had us back in the trees in short order. On the way out we found a way, way better version of Isolation Express. If you are ascending, you'll have three forks: Right, Left, Right, is how you want to do. No it does not unlock a cheat code, sorry. Thanks to Mrs. Beefman for the beers at the after party. I have no idea how I saw it, but we got to take some great pictures of a snowshoe hare who was sizing us up. Also ran into hiking royalty, fancypants herself! Hopefully she liked the IPA we left her! :) 96.0% - aww yeah
