Lovely trip to Hale using Fire Warden's. Walked the road from Seven Dwarves, crossed the two bridges and up to about height of land where the snowmobile trail heads left. Short stint on Haystack Rd to the trailhead. North Twin trail down low has small patches of ice but mostly dry or wet trail. Steady icy monorail begins at 2600ft or so. Best with spikes from here out but some of us barebooted just fine. Few spots where they are absolutely necessary. Beautiful in these glades. Saw a good 15-20 people out there enjoying Hale, most coming pup the FW side but a couple from Hale Brook |
