Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings on Franconia Brook are a bit high. Ice bridges are gone. Recommend poles. You will likely need to hop or stretch.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Passable. Twin Brook is requires some care to stay on trail and not get thrown off by blow downs. 100 yards or so of Franconia Brook trail is underwater. You can push through the trees in the sides but it’s still hard to avoid feet in some amount of water. Waterproof boots recommended.

Comments
Comments: Overall not too bad. Lincoln Woods is a mix of stable mud and eroding blue ice. I made it up through Guyot with Microspikes but transitioned to snowshoes the rest of the trek until getting back to Lincoln Woods. There is still plenty ability to post hole on Twinway and Twin Brook. I kept them on to move faster on the unstable snowy straightaways along Franconia Brook though there were a number of areas where snowshoes don’t make sense. I just didn’t want to take them time to take them off and put them back on. Be wary if there is any rain. I think the Franconia Brook area is poised to flood.
