Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: One large water crossing over Downes Brook. From what I can tell based on limited tracks beyond this point, lots is people have turned back here recently due to high water. It is rock hoppable if you have longer legs. It had to be planned well and if the water rises any significant amount it would only be passable by wading or moving up or down stream a ways beyond the trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of recent bow downs and some big ones too. Easy to get around so not a deterrent.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My dog did fine but would be mindful of the water crossing. I was able to have my dog stay on one side and I crossed first to show him the way to go. He’s a good boy and we’ve done 100s of crossings this way so he knew but others may not be that lucky so just make wise choices.
Bugs

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I lost a fleece LL bean glove :(

Comments
Comments: Quick and dirty run up the mountain! Ice for most of the trail so traction necessary at least for a couple weeks yet unless we get a good warm up. Lower levels were melting and flowing as temps were rising so a couple soft, muddy spots but leaves are thick. Didn’t appear anyone had been past the water crossing….maybe all week. Zero tracks ahead of me. Views were great, you could see a fresh dusting of snow at the higher elevations. Overall, good spring hike!
