| Comments: |
Wednesday was a perfect day for Avalon, Field and Tom. Hillsounds the whole way. The trails are hard packed at the lower elevation. Heading to Field, up on the ridge, there was some fresh powder and drifting on top of the hard snow. Snowshoes could be worn here for a short distance. Snow was firm, so there was no postholing. It is icy heading up the Avalon Tail and the spur to the Avalon summit, so sharp spikes are needed. With the cooler temperatures, the trails are in great shape. |
