Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There was a small brook crossing on the Kettles Path where we went off trail to the right and crossed by stepping on some branches that created a sort of dam above the brook.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Beginning of the Kettles Path was a stream probably causing extensive erosion...we had to walk off trail. There were two large, chain saw blowdowns on the way to the steeper section...one blowdown we had to walk around and the other blocked the trail but we could step over it. Some junctions could be better signed, and blazing could be touched up.

Comments
Comments: It was a good day to escape the rest of the world for a bit on these backcountry trails! The Nordic Center is closed so it was quiet and we did not see anyone the entire hike.

We wore MicroSpikes from start to finish. The Kettles Path was frozen granular snow mixed in sections of water, ice and bare ground.

As we got nearer to the junction of the Scaur Trail, the Kettles Path got steep where we had to carefully navigate our way up the ice flows on the trail.
