Comments
Comments: Excellent hike of the Kinsmans from the shelter. Winds subsided with moody skies throughout. Sidewalk conditions at this time with the low temps. Snowshoes while on the pack were absolutely not needed today. i dropped after N Kinsman and glad i did. Hillsound Trail Crampons worked great. Ice bulges, frozen water flows of blue ice were a little tricky descending on Fishin' Jimmy but slow and steady there was no issue. Micros are not sufficient however imo for these icy parts. Lonesome Lake Trail was a sidewalk as well. Great day to be out. i crossed paths with just one other hiker with two friendly dogs today.
