Honestly pretty excited about the conditions today, I never look forward to spring shoulder season. Just got back from a trip out west and wanted to stretch the legs without subjecting myself to any real spring misery. It was a perfect day for the rock spikes, I wore them basically from door to door. Only a little bit of bare ground here and there. Very little mud and the snowpack is deteriorating consistently since everything gets sun in there, so no monorail yet. I'm about 200 pounds and I didn't posthole once. The only spot I really even saw any postholes was the little cut-through from the summit ledge to the other side. Jackson was cruising a little too fast and seemed to hurt his paw on the way down, he's resting comfortably on the couch and excited to get spoiled even more than usual. |
