 | Comments: |
Wet trail with lots of standing water in the 1st mile, with some remnants of monorail that will make you want to keep spikes on. You could still use snowshoes in the 2nd mile- the snow is not deep but the trail is really beat up with post holes, and is becoming very soft. Greasy wet snow renders spikes ineffective on the steeps. Freeze thaw conditions has produced a few sketchy spots closer to the summit (1/2 mile?) that you’ll need to scramble over. Nice weather! Saw three other hikers and that’s it all day. |
