Comments
Comments: As has been noted elsewhere, a mixed bag for sure.
Bare ground, with big swaths of mud, followed by a thin monorail of ice, more bare ground, mud, icy monorail, repeat.
I donned my snowshoes after the first significant switchback, about 1/2 of the way up,when the snow cover became consistent.
One guy was doing the entire hike with hefty traction. Two women I met while heading down had lighter traction.
No optimum choice. But I was happy to wear the ‘shoes for the traction, flotation, and the televators.
