| Water Crossing Notes: |
Franconia Brook trail is borderline. There’s a lot less water than 3 weeks ago, but also a lot less stable ice. And there’s still a ton of water. I didn’t end up in the water this time, but the crossings were sketchy and I had to stretch and lean on my poles. Use caution. If the ice recess much further so or the crossings may not be feasible. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Just a lot of twigs and small beaches down. Pools of water in Franconia Brook Trail are now only a foot or so deep. It’s quite flooded but I managed to get through moving off trail in some sections. |

| Comments: |
Yucky day. Except for Twin Brook and Franconia Brook Trail, everything else was in good shape. Lots of wet unstable snow on Twin Brook. The snowshoeing was difficult. Lots of water on Franconia Brook. It was passable today, but borderline. I’d stay clear if there is any significant rain or melting. |
